Remove Line Breaks
Paste your text, get clean lines back. Free, no signup, and nothing you paste ever leaves your browser.
Why does pasted text have broken lines?
Text copied from a PDF, an email, a scanned document, or a terminal often carries a hard line break at the end of every visual line. When you paste it somewhere else, each sentence arrives chopped into short fragments. This tool removes those unwanted line breaks and joins the pieces back into normal, flowing text.
How to remove line breaks from text
- Paste your text into the box above. The character count updates as you paste.
- Pick your options. Remove all line breaks is on by default. Switch to Keep paragraph breaks if you want blank lines between paragraphs to survive.

FAQ
Is my text uploaded to a server?
No. Everything runs locally in your browser with JavaScript. Your text is never sent, stored, or logged. Closing the tab erases it completely.
Can I keep the breaks between paragraphs?
Yes. Choose "Keep paragraph breaks" and blank lines between paragraphs are preserved, while single line breaks inside a paragraph are removed.
Does it remove extra spaces too?
Check "Remove extra spaces" and runs of repeated spaces are squeezed down to one. Leading and trailing whitespace is always trimmed automatically.
Is there a length limit or a price?
No limit and no price. The tool is free, requires no account, and works entirely on your device, so long texts are fine.
How do I remove line breaks from Word text?
Paste the broken text here with "Keep paragraph breaks" selected, then paste the cleaned result back into Word. Your paragraphs stay intact while the stray mid-sentence breaks disappear, with no ^p find-and-replace needed.
How do I remove line breaks inside Excel cells?
Paste the cell contents here and select "Remove all line breaks" so each entry collapses onto a single line. Then paste it back into Excel. This avoids fiddling with SUBSTITUTE and CHAR(10) formulas.
Why is text copied from a PDF full of line breaks?
PDFs store every printed line as a separate piece of text, so copying a paragraph brings one hard break per line. Paste it here with "Keep paragraph breaks" selected and the artificial breaks are joined back into flowing text.
How do I fix line breaks from Outlook emails?
Outlook wraps plain-text messages at a fixed width, so copied replies and forwards arrive chopped at around 70 characters. Paste the email text here with the default options and copy back a clean, continuous version.
